e-Delphyn Tumor Bank is the definitively Software Solution, as a part of e-Delphyn Suite, for the management of donors and the donated tissue as well as its interoperability with National and International Tumor Networks.
- Functionalities:
- Universal controlled access: Since each of the main options (donors, clinical episodes, samples) it is possible to navigate into any of the others, always following the hierarchy:
Donor<->clinical episode<->sample. - Only users who can access directly to the donor option will display the actual identification of the donor. If access is manage from an episode or a sample, the displayed donor information shown, for those episodes specified, is an internal number completely anonymous.
- Multicenter Operation: identifying samples not only from e-Delphyn users but also other centres'.
- Donor management: It allows a step by step donation process registration to the Bank of Tumors, finding: donor demographics, History, Social Security, health insurance card, ID card. Also if a user is allow to, it is possible to register new donors.
May include any donor specifications or keep it anonymous in order to safeguard confidentiality and patientīs rights.
The process also allows access to the donor's history episodes which have been previously included in the tumor bank, or if the user is allow to, the access to the registration of new episodes.
- The management of the Oncology Episodes: Through this option it is allowed searching by clinical episodes just by refering to the requested center. By default the facility where the user works, is the one provided by the application.
It is also possible to search by the internal reference of the Bank of Tumors.
Includes control of sample collection, their origin and morphological diagnosis and pathological classification of neoplastic stage and percentage of tumor cells, classification of anatomical origin, realization of informed consent, physician in charge of the case, validation status, treatment or diagnosis that may affect the display or handling...
The episodes can be encoded by various encoding systems simultaneously, all definable. Should be integrated with other centers, can also support encodings other centers in which case it would refer to the center responsible for the encoding.
- Oncology samples management: through this option is it possible to locate a sample with only the reference provided by the center, the internal number of an episode or the specific number of a biopsia.
The sample management enables a record of material types, macroscopy, anatomic location, morphology and pathologic description, end control sample, recording the patient's diagnostic tests based on unit tests or profiles as independent management of Tumor Bank or as the integration with the hospitalsī LIS.
Also included a logistics management regarding the sample coming from the primary care system, recording location of the sample, control of expiration dates, aliquots control, storage, freezers.
- Clinical notes and Administrative notes management: Access to clinical notes and administrative notes of each donor is allowed in all levels, as well as to a specific episode or a specific sample. An alarm can be set to appear automatically each time a specific episode, a sample or a donor is been consulted.
