e-Delphyn Tissue Bank is the definitively Software Solution for the Tissue Donation: management of donors and the donated tissue. It includes validation rules based on serological and microbiological tests.
The software includes all processes that are performed in Tissue Banks: tissue management and labelling, storage management, distribution management, transplant management, tracking and bio monitoring, etc.
- Functionalities:
- Donor Management. Registration of all the information of the donor. It includes the typology of the donor (asystole, brain death, living donor). It is possible to distinguish by type of donation (autologous...) etc.
- Donation Management. All the process relating to tissue collection could be used in the tissue bank and in the hospitals. The importance of this process is focussed on the quality of the samples. The more important factors are the processing method, type of transport and the speed in collection to get the tissue bank. Tissue managed:
- Cardiovascular Tissue. Arteries, veins, valves,...

- Ocular Tissue. Cornea and sclera
- Muscle-Skeletal. Bones and tendons

- Tissue Storage Management. Whatever the final outcome (donation satisfactory, rejected,) and for a subsequent operation will be necessary to record all data generated during the donation process. For each of the tissues in the donation, it is possible to register the following information:
- Cell Type
- Storage Temperature
- Size
- Features
- Storage Container
- Material used in the storage and processing, including batch numbers and expiry dates.
- Microbiological Controls, with the possibility of applying validation rules depending on the results.
- Laboratory and Validation of the donation. Donations must undergo serological tests provided by law following the validation algorithms. Based on these algorithms, e-Delphyn TIS accepts or rejects the tissue donation.
- Tissue Processing. e-Delphyn TIS can record the different processes carried out on tissue donated:
- Splitting. If a tissue is defined as "piece" it can be subdivided into other tissues.
- Aliquoted. It is possible to register the division of the tissue into smaller parts, for example in donations of semen.
- Modification. The tissue can be subjected to different processes (lyophilization, dehydration), in order to get a new type of tissue.
- Continuous monitoring of all tissues in storage (available, not available, reserved and expired units). Technically, the process must permit at any time, the state of real-time stock, types of specimen, date of collection, etc.
- Distribution Management. The distribution process must generate a delivery note for the courier and a Certificate of Use for the medical personnel. It is necessary to record the start time, according to the requirements in the regulations.
- Transplanted patient management. The software allows the complete management until the record of data of the transplanted patient (sample results, units issued, etc.)
- Donor Management. Registration of all the information of the donor. It includes the typology of the donor (asystole, brain death, living donor). It is possible to distinguish by type of donation (autologous...) etc.

- Security. Access to all options is controlled by personal encrypted passwords. Usage of LDAP systems; up to three different access levels are available for each option; all actions taken by users are recorded, it includes validation rules for donations and compatibility rules for transfusions.
